FILLED UP_ Summer Science Camp entering middle school
June 13 @ 10:00 am - June 16 @ 3:00 pm
We are excited to announce Schedel Arboretum & Gardens’s fourth Summer Science Camp being held from June 13-16 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm for students entering middle school (6th & 7th grades) 2017/18. Registration is free…but limited!
We recognize that as our society evolves and becomes ever more reliant on technology, the significance of science and nature in our lives is waning. This is of ever increasing concern in the lives of our children who are becoming more and more tethered to electronics rather than valuing hands-on, real life experiences for both learning and stimulation -particularly when it comes to outdoor activities.
Studies will be led by Molly Hansen from Washington Local School System. The entire program will be consistent with the State of Ohio curriculum for middle school students.
The goal of the camp is to give children a leg-up on their studies in science and to spawn a passion for the understanding of our relationship to science and nature.
There is a limit of 15 students in the camp. Camper’s will need to BRING their own sack lunch daily. A Light snack will be provided daily along with necessary beverages. All participants will receive a free camp t-shirt and certificate upon completion.
We are filled up for this session. We are still taking applications for those entering 4th & 5th grades in 2017/18 year. That session is June 27th-30th.
