Donations to the Joseph J. & Marie P. Schedel Foundation help to ensure that the legacy envisioned and left by the Schedel’s will continue on for future generations. Since 1989, the foundation board of directors has been entrusted with that task and operates with the guidance of its Mission Statement … “Providing meaningful and life enhancing experiences for the appreciation and study of nature and the arts.” Thanks to the benevolence of the many donors, tens of thousands of people have this opportunity each year.
With that support, the SA&G is able to provide not only stunning displays of annual plants and flowers in more than one hundred beds, but also nurture and maintain the many unique species and varieties of trees, shrubs, woody and herbaceous plants — many of which were collected by the Schedel’s — that adorn the grounds. All of that combined with the permanent sculpture and art collections and the rotating exhibits, creates a unique resource for carrying on the Schedel legacy. And, hopefully one will enjoy not only the satisfaction of helping others, but perpetuating a source of enjoyment for themselves.
The opportunities to give are numerous and include annual memberships, life memberships, the Annual Campaign, for the acquisition of new plants, operating support fund and planned giving — to name but a few. The executive director and board members are happy to discuss the options available to help tailor the vehicle for a gift that best suited to the individual situation.
