The Mission of the Schedel Arboretum & Gardens is “Providing meaningful and life enhancing experience for the appreciation and study of nature and the arts.”  Volunteers are the embodiment of that Mission.  In every aspect of the operations, volunteers help ensure that tens of thousands of visitors each year continue to have this opportunity.  Whether greeting visitors in the Brown Welcome Center, planting and maintaining the more than 100 beds on the grounds, helping with special events or building a trellis or display stand — volunteers are everywhere here!

Each year orientation and appreciation are lunches are scheduled at the start and end of the season.   Stories are shared and the staff and foundation board is able to express  appreciation to many “special” friends.

The hours are flexible and the work is rewarding!  Please consider volunteering so that all people have the opportunity to take advantage of this special place for the appreciation and study of nature and the arts.

Study Nature. Love Nature. Stay close to Nature. It will never fail you.”
