August 11th Organic Herb Gardening with Master Gardener Vicki Gallagher at 6:30 p.m. at Schedel Gardens
Vicki plans to share with you the benefits of organic gardening, how to information, and herbs from around the world. Vicki is also the Head Gardener at the 577 Foundation. The gardens will open at 5:30 pm for those interested in touring the gounds prior to the seminar. Fee is $12 per person, reservations required.
August 25th Basic Bonsai Care with Doug Ricci at 10:00 a.m. at Schedel Gardens
Includes: bonsai history, basic tools, choosing the right container, potting, repotting & root pruning, as well as shaping your bonsai. Fee is $12 per person, reservations required. This fee also permits you to tour the grounds following the seminar.
September 3rd Schedel Evening Guided Garden Tour at 6:30 p.m.
Evening tours open to individuals. Learn historical Schedel information plus detailed information on trees and flora on the 17 acre garden estate. Reservations are required. Fee is $12 per person.
September 15th Tropical Orchid Seminar, 11a.m. at Schedel Gardens
Join us with Roberts Flower Supply to learn all about growing and caring for tropical orchids. Reservations are required. Fee is $12 per person. This fee also permits you to tour the grounds following the seminar.
September 22nd Creating your own Rain Garden. Schedel has teamed with Ottawa County Soil & Water Conservation District. Need to learn more about where, when & why we need rain gardens? Then you need to attend this informative seminar. Two sessions will be offered. 10 a.m. & 6:30 p.m. You will also receive information on what plants work well in or near rain gardens. Plus a rain barrel demonstration. Fee is $12 per person, reservations required. Guests attending the 10am seminar may wander the grounds following the seminar at no additional charge. Guests attending the evening session may come at 5:30 to wander the gardens at no additional charge.
October 1st Schedel Evening Guided Garden Tour at 5:30 p.m.

October 16th -Fall Splendor Evening Schedel Arboretum & Gardens invites you to join us Friday October 16th from 5:30-8pm to enjoy a delightful 6 course meal in the beautiful fall setting of the gardens. The evening will begin with a colorful stroll through the 17 acre gardens. Next, hors d’oeuvres & musical entertainment begins at 6:00 in the lovely new Brown Welcome Center. Dinner will be served at 6:45. $45 per person or $340 for a table of 8. Advanced registration is required.
*Most seminars will last for one hour.
Guided garden tours normally take up to an hour and a half.
