The Schedel Arboretum and Gardens membership program is a vital component of our operation. Without the support provided by our members many of the most important developments and improvements would not be possible. We extend our most sincere thanks for their support.
MISSION
· Providing a unique resource to promote our quality of life through the study and appreciation of nature.
GOALS
· To provide exemplary horticultural displays that utilize the original features of this historic garden, as well as modern design technology, in serving the educational, cultural and environmental needs of the region.
· To provide a peaceful garden setting for quiet and reflective contemplation, personal renewal, inspiration, and appreciation of nature.
· To provide a variety of display gardens to demonstrate the usefulness and beauty of plants.
· To maintain and expand the unique collections of both the woody and herbaceous specimens found at the gardens.
· To promote the use of this important resource for a variety of purposes including offering special educational and cultural programs, and by cooperating with regional educational institutions in promoting an appreciation for the central role of plants in nature.
· To encourage research, both independently and in cooperation with other institutions, in a unique learning environment where both traditional and nontraditional students can observe the introduction of new cultivars and test new technologies.
