Tours

Self-Guiided Tours
Self-guided tours are the most common method of enjoying the gardens. Upon your arrival at the Schedel Arboretum and Gardens, you’ll check in at the Brown Welcome Center where you can pick up your Self-Guided Walking Tour brochure. The brochure includes a map and checkpoints which will lead you on a leisurely trip through the gardens. All major areas within the grounds are highlighted and explained to you. Important specimens and varieties are labeled in the beds near the plant itself as well.
The Self-Guided Walking Tour brochure is merely a guideline, however. Guests are invited to re-trace their steps, take their time, and seek out plants and areas they find interesting that may not be directly noted in the tour brochure itself. Just remember our rules of garden etiquette and you’ll be fine!
Guided Tours
Guided tours of the arboretum and gardens are by appointment only (an additional fee applies).    Please contact us for details and to make arrangements.
Beginning with the 2010 season, guided tours of the Manor House and the “Shack” (the Schedel’s summer home) will be offered for $8 at regularly scheduled times. Wednesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays at 1pm.  Large groups should call ahead for reservations.
