To Our Visitors, Investors and Friends:

According to our health and governmental authorities, efforts at controlling the spread of COVID-19 are paying dividends and the rollout of vaccines in the past several months offers hope that we may return to some sense of normal later this summer into fall. However, we are also being encouraged to not to let our guards down and continue to use good hand hygiene, social distancing and most importantly the use of face coverings.

At this point in time, we plan to open under our usual modified hours starting April 1 with regular hours beginning May 1. We will require that visitors wear face coverings and observe social distancing when visiting the Brown Welcome Center and the Blair Museum of Lithophanes in the manor house. We also ask that you maintain a safe distance from volunteers and crews on the grounds should you need to approach them with questions or directions.

We are also planning to ramp up our Workshop Series sponsored by North Branch Nursery. COVID-19 protocols will be provided separately with workshop registration information. Additionally, we are once again able to host weddings, wedding receptions and other gatherings both on the grounds and in the BWC or Trellis Gallery. Current CDC and other health and governmental agency guidelines will be enforced. But, overall, we are pleased that - as of this point in time - our 2021 operations should be somewhat normal.

So, we hope that you will feel comfortable visiting the gardens. We are prepared for you and hope to provide you with a wonderful outdoor experience for the appreciation and study of nature and the arts at its finest !

Today I am also asking you to help ensure that the Schedel Arboretum & Gardens continues its economic sustainability in the face of the potential loss of income due to COVID-19 and the uncertainties that still cause people to exercise caution in planning their events and activities. Those things are a comprise a large portion of our annual income. In philanthropy there is a saying… “Give ‘til it hurts a little!” It’s easy to make a donation through our websiteapp.etapestry.com/onlineforms/JosephJMariePSchedelFoundatio/onlinegift.html.  Please stay safe, healthy and take care of one another!
